PCPA General Practice Pharmacy Technician 2025 Award Winner
Samira began her pharmacy career in community pharmacy, where she spent 12 years developing her knowledge and experience. Over the past four years in primary care, she progressed from issuing prescriptions to becoming a Deputy Pharmacy Manager and Senior Pharmacy Technician, now leading a team of 15 pharmacists and 5 prescription clerks while working closely with GPs, nurses, and wider healthcare teams.
Her work focuses on medication optimisation, patient safety, and improving equitable access to medicines. She is passionate about community engagement, supporting health campaigns, migrant communities, and accessible patient information. In 2025, Samira was recognised with the PCPA GP Pharmacy Technician Award.
Jodie Wilkinson
Practice Pharmacy Technician, Sabden and Whalley Medical Group
PCPA General Practice Pharmacy Technician 2025 Highly Commended
With over 13 years of experience in the pharmaceutical field, Jodie is currently a Pharmacy Technician at Sabden & Whalley Medical Limited.
Her role focuses on medicines reconciliation, vaccination programme management, and optimising pharmaceutical practices to ensure patient safety and compliance. She works closely with healthcare professionals to support safe and effective use of medicines and improve patient outcomes.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Jodie contributes to the development of healthcare initiatives, including a bone health project focused on improving osteoporosis awareness and prevention in women.
