Speakers

Helen Williams
Helen is the National Clinical Director for CVD Prevention at NHSE and Consultant Pharmacist and Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Disease for the Southeast London Integrated Care System. Helen has worked as a CVD specialist for more than 25 years across all care settings. She was clinical adviser to the AHSN national AF programme and developed the pharmacist-led virtual clinic model to optimise uptake of anticoagulation in AF, which has now been spread nationally. Most recently, as the National Speciality Adviser for CVD Prevention at NHS England she worked on the delivery of the national CVD ambitions for AF, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol in the NHS Long Term Plan.

Danny Bartlett
Danny has two main roles and works at the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Primary Care School, within NHS England Workforce, Training and Education Directorate as the Clinical Lead. This is after 10 years working as a pharmacist within both general practice and community pharmacy. His other main role is where he teaches at the University of Brighton at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level as a Senior Lecturer and as the Associate Course Lead for Enhanced Postgraduate Prescribing for Pharmacists. He is passionate about all things education and workforce. A long-standing history in increasing education and competency in prescribing, CVRM disease and wider upskilling, he has led on some great innovative placement projects as well as developing and expanding supervision and clinical competence of multiprofessionals within primary care. He is keen to broaden and link all professions within the school to a centralised and targeted mission at improving education, development and retention of all staff within primary care.
