Prof.Raj Thakkar
Raj's roles include GP partner, primary care cardiology lead for the Oxford Health Innovation Network and member of the national cardiac transformation programme (NHSE). He is also on the national EAGs for lipids, heart attack and heart failure. Raj is President of the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society, Honorary Visiting Professor at Cardiff University Medical School, Head of Medical External Engagement and Innovation for AstraZeneca, and UK medical director for Healthy.io. Previous roles have included Clinical Commissioning Director for Bucks CCG/BOB ICB in planned care and Cardiac Lead for the TVSCN.
Sarah Trust
Sarah Trust MPharm, Independent Prescriber is a clinical pharmacist specialising in lipid management and cardiovascular prevention. She established and runs dedicated lipid clinics within Brighton & Sussex PCNs, prescribing across the full range of lipid lowering therapies.
Her work has transformed treatment-to-target rates in both primary and secondary prevention, embedding structured pathways that reduce cardiovascular risk, improve patient outcomes and deliver sustainable, cost-effective care.
